The Emile is an underwired bikini top built around an original print designed by DEESSA founder Elin Ritter, inspired by the Sargantana — the wild lizard of Ibiza, symbol of the island's untamed spirit.

The Sargantana is made to order in sizes S to 2XL. Please allow 4 weeks for delivery. Once your order is placed, you will receive a short email from Elin to confirm your size before we cut. This is not an automated process — every set is made individually, by hand, in Ibiza.

The print is hand-printed in Spain onto sustainable performance fabric, then cut and sewn by hand in our Ibiza atelier. Each top is finished with hand-carved coconut rings and our signature gold-tipped cord ties — details that cannot be replicated at scale because they are never made at scale.

This is not a product you will find anywhere else. It exists in an edition of 10 pieces.

Is the Emile top supportive?

The Emile top features a light underwire for optimal coverage and shape.

What fabric is used?

The outer fabric is a high-performance, regenerated nylon Italian blend, hand-printed in Spain. The lining is recycled nylon. Both are chlorine and saltwater resistant.

Where is DEESSA swimwear made?

DEESSA swimwear is handmade in Ibiza, Spain, in small artisan batches using regenerated European fabrics.

Will the scalloped edge fray or lose shape?

The scalloped hem is finished using a three-thread overlock stitch on performance swimwear fabric — it is designed to withstand saltwater, chlorine, and repeated wear without distortion.

Can this bikini top be paired with a matching bottom?

Yes. It pairs perfectly with the matching gaia Ibiza bikini bottom to create a complete coordinated set.

Important! We use a Brazilian style cut for our many of bikini bottom designs and a petite sizing system. If you prefer more coverage at the back we recommend going a size up or choosing a style with more coverage.

Care Instructions

Lotion, sunscreen, oil, and chlorine can cause discoloration of this item; this is not a manufacturing defect.
Please follow the care instructions to keep your swimwear in the best condition.
Rinse with water and a small quantity of detergent after every wear to remove any salts, minerals, and chemical deposits within the construction.
After washing your suit, don't wring it out! Instead, place it flat on a towel and roll it up so the towel absorbs the excess water.

Make sure that your swimsuit dries fully before putting it away, as any lingering moisture can cause odors and prematurely age fabrics. Unless your machine has a no-heat option (sometimes called “air fluff”), steer clear of the dryer—heat is damaging to the stretchy synthetics favored in swimwear.

We offer an option to prioritize shipping at checkout with UPS. Depending on your location the timeframe is usually 3-6 working days.
